NPR did a piece this morning on HIV statistics in the US and mentioned this website as a source. Maphiv.org appears to be operated by Z-Atlas which states itself as "America's health index and online maps providing information about health and health care in the US." Z-Atlas uses ArcGIS which I am sure most of you are familiar. Though the site requires registration, I think it is worth it to get a look at the UI. Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Nice find, Chris.
Two points, their map shows historical data from 2006 and thereabouts, and I suspect, their database is centralized. Our use case is near realtime data and our databases are distributed and more than likely heterogeneous.
